I am not going to share some theoretical shit with your guys but this is the real way and proven way to make passive income with the Medium partner program. You might ask, “How to make passive income on Medium?”
The biggest problem with the Medium that makes it a little unattractive for passive income is the Monetization model they use. They pay writers based on the reading time of medium members, but, today, I am going to share practical tips with you guys to make passive income through your Medium stories.
What really passive income is?
Passive income is a type of income you make while not actively working on it. A video you uploaded a year ago to YouTube might still make you money because it might be ranked on top of the keyword. The article you have written a month ago still makes more money for you because of its higher search ranking. You did build a product and now, it is making money for you till it is ranked on that keyword.
Most people get confused over passive Income, there isn’t any way through which you make money just without investing anything; you either you have to invest you time or your money or both.

Medium makes money when a user opted for a Medium membership program which costs $5/month or $50/year. Some portion of that money goes to the writers.

The picture is given above where there is more than 90% of the traffic is from the search engine and medium shows me this traffic because these people already have a medium account.
Fact check: This keyword is ranked on top of the search engine and this will bring me traffic till the time where no one is searching for this keyword. Technically, that is not possible so this will bring me traffic all the time.
As you can see the pattern, when I published this post, I really making any money through this article, but now, after a certain amount of time, it started generating money and this is repetitive. So, till the end of this year, this article might add more money to my Medium partner program earnings.

There is a great story I have read on Medium where the author has made more than thousands of bucks with his single ranked story.
Adding your own videos and blog links: This is also a great way to get free marketing. You can add your YouTube videos or your blog links related to the Medium story and can generate a passive traffic strategy through Medium. You can make money by showing ads to those people.
Sell your own course: You can either self-host your own course or uploaded it to Udemy and sell it to the people who might be interested to find out the complete story behind a topic.
Monetize email list: Yes, Medium does allow you to collect emails from your readers. The email opening rate is reduced to 10% or less in some cases but still, it is one of the best ways to get connected with your readers or fans.
